I am 67 and have two self-invested personal pensions with £400,000 in total in them. I don't need this money to live on, as I have a state pension and final salary pension of £35,000 a year. I had mentally allocated the Sipps as a pot in case I need to upgrade my home or pay for later life care costs and if I don't need the money, to pass them on as an inheritance. Mine and my wife's home is worth £800,000 and along with my other savings and investments this means I am on the verge of being liable for inheritance tax. Once pension pots are included, I will definitely be over the limit.1 day ago
