Under trust terms, I can live in the house and move house, but I can't cohabit. My solicitor has suggested I may like to buy my stepchildren out of the trust, and that the easiest way to do this is with a deed of variation to the will within two years of my husband passing. I would struggle to afford this right now, but my solicitor has said that if I don't do the deed of variation I may have to pay tax when I do decide to buy my half of my house back.1 day ago
it comes as a blow to find out that in the early run-up to the Budget, John Healey is looking at ways of stretching an already overwrought Government balance sheet. It is enormously disappointing that a Government facing several years of penury, with a national debt of £3trillion (close to 100 per cent of total output) and the highest yields on government bonds in the G7 nations is considering more borrowing.19 hours ago

I worked for a company from around 2013 to 2015. I left when my father died and went home to look after my mother. When I had some time to chase up pensions more recently, I asked my former employer where my contributions were. I received an email which in effect said I have lost the pension. I didn't know you could lose a pension and haven't with all my other providers, some going back 30 years, so I am confused as to why this is allowed to happen.4 days ago
